Spark plug gap will affect running quality. The factory recommends 0.030" gap.
In order to provide optimum running quality and prevent possible engine damage, it is imperative
that the proper spark plug be utilized.
If your outboard motor has had a later model powerhead installed, use the recommended spark
plug for the specific powerhead.
